Event Description:
This workshop invites you to explore the quiet rhythm of weaving. Inspired by the SAORI philosophy, we’ll let go of perfection and follow our intuition and the movement of our hands.
Using yarn, thread, and fabric scraps, we’ll explore weaving as a process. You’ll also learn how to set up your own simple loom and begin weaving from scratch. Textiles often hold memory.. As you slow down, you may notice how memories surface in colours, in repetition, in knots, or even in what you leave out.
This session is about presence, not performance. You don’t need a plan or any skills.
All materials will be provided. You’re also welcome to bring a scrap of fabric that holds meaning or memory for you
